Café Soleil is a beach side restaurant located at the stunning Blue Lagoon Hotel & Marina in Ratho Mill. It was first located in the heart of the hustle and bustle of Kingstown but has called Blue Lagoon home for the last few years.
The Café is a quintessential Caribbean Café with its nautical blue theme and views of the Marina it calls home. It features both indoor and outdoor dining, although it seems that every customer reserves the indoor dining for a rainy day. This is quite understandable, it’s hard to stay away from the stunning views and beautiful weather that being seated outside affords.
The Menu features many items including breakfast, appetizers, sandwiches, small bites, mains and desserts. It’s not an overwhelming menu but it definitely caters to all palates .
Type of meal: Breakfast
WHAT I ATE
Garden Omelet (onions, sweet pepper, tomatoes) with added mushrooms.
Price: $18 + $2 (Mushrooms) = $20
The meal was fantastic! I am not a fan of the smell of egg or an overly “eggy” taste and this omelet was the furthest thing from that.
I could definitely tell that the vegetables the chef used were fresh as well as the toast.
Suffice to say, the coffee was great. Piping hot and perfectly made!
The hostesses and waiters were very pleasant and friendly. The service was quite efficient and although breakfast ended at 10AM and I arrived at 10:30AM, they were kind enough to still make me something from the breakfast menu.
I did notice however, that the staff could have been just a tad bit more attentive. I had to signal them a few times for extra napkins, water and to ask for butter for my toast. But all in all their demeanor overshadowed that.
The Café is calming and relaxing. The ambiance really makes this place what it is! If I could have afforded to have breakfast there every morning I probably would.
WOULD I RETURN?
